My wife Rachelle and I have decided to build a house in Stansbury Park, UT. This page will give information about the house, the community it will be located in, and show progress in the construction. I would urge you to check back periodically for updates.

HOME CONSTRUCTION WEBLOG:

12/20/03		Signed contract with Richmond American Homes to build and purchase a home in Stansbury Park.
12/29/03		Contranct Approved by Richmond American Homes.
01/19/04		Signed Mortgage Contract with Richmond American Mortgage
02/03/04		Design Center appointment to choose interior options.
02/09/04		Pre-Construction Meeting with Realtor and Construction Manager.
02/16/04		GROUNDBREAKING!!! Foundation hole dug. Paid construction deposit.
02/21/04		Foundation walls completed, and filling in of the gap between the foundation wall and the edge of the hole half-done.
02/28/04		Finished filling in foundation wall gap. Basement floor and garage floor completed. Preparation for framing.
03/06/04		Framing mostly done. It went up fast! The house is taking shape.
03/13/04		Framing completed. Roof completed. Plumbing system started. Furnace installed. Windows installed. Front porch started.
03/21/04		Plumbing, heating, and electrical systems installed. Insulation installed in the walls of all three levels of the house. Porch structurally complete. Exterior is being prepared for siding, stucco, and brick. Interior is being prepared for drywall.
03/27/04		Application of stucco and siding to the exterior has begun. The entire interior of the house has been drywalled! It all went up very fast, in just a few days. Very dramatic change.
04/04/04		Siding and stucco work has been completed! Interior prepared for trim and painting. Ceilings textured. Corners rounded. Steps out back door to the ground have been constructed.
04/10/04		Brick added to exterior. Garage door added. Inside, they have painted! They've also added trim, a railing on the stairs, and shelves in the closets, pantry, and laundry room.
04/17/04		Exterior almost done. Scaffolding removed from front of house. Inside, they installed vinyl, cabinets, and countertops in the nook, kitchen, and bathrooms. Stone tile was installed in the front entryway. The closing date has been tentatively scheduled for 4/29/04, my birthday!
04/17/04		Home Stretch! Exterior lighting installed. Work started on driveway, walkway to front door, and sidewalk. Inside, they installed carpeting throughout the house, sinks, faucets, light fixtures, electrical outlets, and toilets. All that's left to do inside is doorknobs, heating vent covers, touchup work, and to give the house a final cleaning! Closing has been set for Friday, May 7th at 1:00 pm!
04/30/04		Doorknobs and heating vent covers installed. Driveway and sidewalk completed. Walk-through with Construction Manager. Made written notes of all of the items we wanted fixed prior to closing. Closing has been set for Friday, May 7th at 1:00 pm!
05/06/04		CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED! Final walkthrough with Construction Manager. Signed paperwork indicating construction is complete.
05/07/04		CLOSING DAY! Rachelle and I signed closing papers and loan documents. We received our keys to the house. The house is now ours! We ALSO bought a refridgeratior.
05/18/04		Refrigerator installed. It was a week late because the previous week the delivery guy couldn't find the place.
05/22/04		Move In Day!!! With the help of some friends & family, we got most of the stuff over to our new house from our apartment. That night we slept in our house for the first time. This is our new home!

Estimated time to complete construction: 110-130 Days.
Actual time to complete construction 2/16 - 5/6/04: 81 Days!
